As a filmmaker it is my dream to touch the hearts and minds of people through cinema. My long-term goals consists of starting a film school in my hometown, the inner city sector of Miami where I could teach children the art of cinema, and inspire them as I have been inspired. The opportunity to enlighten, grow and develop ideas and concepts in film is something I find very exciting. I believe that as human beings it is our duty to help each other, not out of obligation, but because it is the right thing to do; with film as my medium I hope to make this my life long pursuit. I use cinema as a form of outreach. It is of critical importance to me to change people’s perception about topics that I feel have been brushed under the rug – topics such as race, gender, domestic violence and poverty. I want to further my practice so that I may become more knowledgeable about how to change the world for positivity and to activate people to do something good within their communities.
