Synopsis : After six months of debauchery in Miami, Fred returns to Montreal. Satisfied from his excessive vacation, he wants to reunite with his son Jacques, win back his ex-girlfriend Marie and make up for lost time with his best buddy Toto. But it turns out that while he was away, everybody has moved on. Marie has a new rich boyfriend, Toto has a new lifestyle, and Jacques isn't quite sure what's going on. In this second instalment of the popular webseries, we find the tortured souls of Dominos now trying to take charge of their lives and become better. Synopsis OLan : Après un voyage de débauche à Miami, Fred revient à Montréal. Repu de ses vacances excessives, il veut revoir son fils Jacques, reconquérir son ex Marie et rattraper le temps perdu avec son pote Toto. Mais il s’avère que pendant son absence, tout le monde est passé à autre chose. Fred réussira-t-il à regagner le coeur de ceux qu’il a si longtemps pris pour acquis? Dans ce deuxième volet de Dominos, on retrouve les mêmes humains écorchés qui tentent cette fois-ci de se reprendre en main, chacun à leur manière. Racontée comme une mosaïque, cette websérie poétique et hautement Montréalaise revient avec tout le mordant et l’humanité qu’on lui connaît.

Submitter Statement : Dominos is an ode to life and an ode to Montreal. It's a mosaic of messy, endearing, funny, beautiful, complex, good, bad people. These people are true to me. Each episode revolves around one of them, opening for us a small window on their issues, peculiarities and desires, but also the repercussions of their actions around them. Like little dominoes falling on each other. If the first season told the story of a bunch of people running away, the second season is about getting better. Or trying.

Submitter Biography : ZOE PELCHAT // SCREENWRITER AND DIRECTOR Zoé Pelchat is a Montreal-based filmmaker with a sensitive approach and refined aesthetic. Her projects always depict fascinating universes with a touch of humour and quirky poetry. After studying communications at Concordia University, she directed a series of experimental short films Poèmes, created and produced with a group of passionate friends. She then began directing music videos for Montreal musicians. In 2015, she co-wrote and directed her first webseries project, Les Presqu' histoires, and then went on to perfect her craft at renowned film school l'INIS. Dominos, a poetic and raw webseries about Montreal's tormented youth, launched her career in 2018 when it won the Best digital series award at Canneseries. The project racked up nominations and honors in the festival circuit, most notably at Marseille Webfest (best scenario) and Are you Series? (Best digital series). Zoe is currently about to launch her first short film Moon and developing her first feature film.
