Submitter Statement : Even from a young age I have been inspired to write and create new worlds through storytelling. After a sit down pitch meeting with a producer who was interested in my feature film script, he asked me why I would want to direct the film when I had never directed a psychological thriller before. I replied to him that women, in general, have not been given the same opportunities to direct films, let alone psychological thrillers. It was after that meeting that I decided to write and direct my short film, The Deft. Instead of complaining or giving up after I was questioned about my capabilities, I took it as a challenge in order to prove that female writers/directors are just as capable as the men in successfully creating a film in the psychological thriller genre. I hope that this film offers suspense and intrigue, and will delight all fans of psychological thrillers.

Submitter Biography : E.N. Reynolds grew up in Sacramento, CA, lived in Los Angeles for awhile, but now resides in Minneapolis, MN where she works as a writer and filmmaker. She wrote and produced her first short film, titled Good and Truly, which won several awards and nominations, including Best Horror Short. She has always had her sights set on the Director's chair, and in 2019 made her Directorial debut with the Spanish comedy, The Chancla. She followed that up by directing The Deft, which she also wrote. She is currently writing a Sci-Fi Drama called Vanessa and is in-development on an Untitled Feature Film.
