Synopsis : Erik Fisher is living in his van down by the river. Without much going for him, besides his 2-4 listeners on his streaming radio show, NightShades, his life is turned upside down when a mysterious stranger delivers a package containing a toy Salamander with a note signed “Mom”. He embarks on a search for his birth parents, assisted and hampered by an array of quirky characters from the fringes of society. Each episode will explore overlapping fabrics of memory, family, and community in the intriguing style of Neil Gaiman, Philip K Dick, and Haruki Murakami. Filmed in and around Squamish, B.C., the series will investigate the complicated nature of adoption in a playful mystery.
